It was another fun time hosting the IDO crew up here again. I was out of town for most of their stay but it looks like they had a good time fishing. Was able to get out the last couple of days and found some good fishing for walleye, and continue to have the fish cleaning buckets that need to be emptied. Most of the people up this past week were encountered with a very angry windy lake. It made life easy for fishing especially when the wind blows like it did. Just pitching jigs/minnows in 4-8 feet of water worked well for me. We even had a good night bite the other night on husky jerks trolled over the tops of the weeds. Our biggest the last couple days was a 27 1/2″ fish, and lots of keepers, the guy I was guiding tried to horse in a big fish, that probably was over 28 for sure. It was just out of reach of the net when it spit the jig. Anyways, looks like we got some good winds the next couple days, and it looks like warm temps. Should be good through the rest of the month. For the duck hunters out there, it has been awesome. Lots of calendar ducks are in the area(canvasback, redheads, ringers) and still some of the early migrants such as bluewings and wood ducks. The rice bays are getting hit hard, but if you can get away from those bays and out on some of the islands you should have some great shooting. October is a great time to be up here, it sounds like everyone is having a great time on the lake.
