Fall Creek and River Fishing

Its Fall Creek and River Fishing season! Who else like chasing Smallmouth in the skinny water’s?

I have a question about river fishing from shore. Do you typically stand downstream and cast upstream? Ive been told this is the way to do it but want some confirmation.

Snag wise it works better to cast down stream. If you get stuck in the rocks usually just a little flick and some quick line slack and the current will take care of the rest.

Cast perpendicular to current, let lure work its way downstream typically.

With that said have caught many fish casting upstream as well.
