Hit up some waters up nort that were about 62° at night trolling stick baits, got into some nicer ones. Not full swing yet but find those rocky gravel areas, trim up the motor and hit that 2-5′. Don’t be suprised if that middle rod gets the action in the prop wash either. Colors preferred seemed to change hourly, natural, then firetiger, then back again. Shorelines next to lowlands where those amphibious creatures migrating will start to turn on to. 1.5-1.8mph

Tight lines fellas, best time of year is almost here for some piggies toast

We did some walking thru the woods during the day and was suprised how many frogs and toads I saw in general. Maybe they’re starting to migrate therefore you see more, but yes, the lowland areas where large populations of them are making their way into the main lake can be better.

Same with harbors in spring too, baitfish make their way into them seeking warmer water, nighttime rolls around and fall eyes will patrol those mouths leading out. Troll snuggly to those openings. If you’re at a resort, make your way down after a poker game at night and give a couple casts, might catch the biggest fish all weekend.

Sometimes it slips the mind toast toast to keep changing colors till ya find the right one, before I head out I lay out several baits easily accessible. Couple extra snaps right along in case of snags so no wasted time.

Find out where all those tullies you’re marking spawn later this fall and guarantee they’ll be biting.
