I am planning on heading down this weekend. We got into them pretty good last year fishing vertical with green jigs and meat in the seams. Looking to get into an 8+ this year and would love any info. you are all willing to give up. AKA water depth, clarity, or key techniques. Last year we fished some blades and some ringworm’s but meat seemed to work out better….thoughts?

    Happy fishing…

Ask Dean what color plastic is hitting good at that time. River Dan and I have had great luck on just jig and plastics. The plastics always change depending on the day, the water, the clarity, etc. Ring worms are good but paddle tails have been great as well. Having more options in the boat is good. I generally with lindy rig a minnow and jig plastic. Look for slack current. Water depth is hard to give you as that changes daily these days.

Patrick, Ol’ Sandman pretty much gave you the best report there is.

With the water levels changing what worked well last week might not work at all when you get there.

Seriously, asking in the bait shop will give you the most up to date info there is at this time of ever changing conditions.

Looks like the air temps will be on your side!
