make a loop in your line, then clip that loop into the release- no problems

what boards did U get?
some do some do not
I believe Offshore has another chip U can use
Thanks for the tip finman. You just saved me 60 dollars in new realses. I appreciate it.
The OR-18 (first pic) is the cats meow IMO for these boards running braid. I often use these on Superior running 3mph on 20# PP with no slipping even into 3′ waves. I want to say they are around $15 each.
In addition you could also run the offshore snap weight clip. (pic 2) This is there strongest “release” clip with a center pin that will make sure the board will not fall off. If there is any slipping you can wrap the line once around the upper or lower pad but this does sometimes make removing the board with a fish on it more difficult. About $10 a pair.
Lastly, you might be able to utalize the black release they come with (unless you got orange) by wrapping the line around the upper or lower release pad.
I also did a write up for making the offshore board into a tattler flag system. You can find the write up in the Group “Tackle Works”. I belive you will have to be accepted by the group’s moderator. Otherwise here is the addresse.

Good Luck, Mark
Offshore makes a special release with a peg in the grip for braid its a OR16
I don’t see a or16 on offshores website. Where did you find them at? Thanks for all the replies and help guys

OR-16 is the same as the snap weight clip. My pic #2
If you buy the OR12TF which is the Tattle Flag kit it comes with 2 OR16 clips & it will likely cost similar or less than buying individual OR16 clips. You should only need 1 OR16 per board(front clip)as the rear you want to break free using the black clip. All accessories are on their site via PDF files & you can check Thorne Bros site for pricing.

X2 Same here this is what I learned
Hey guys thanks for the help. I found the clips for 8 buxcks for two on franks great outdoors. I will be ordering the or16. I appreciate all the help guys
I used to use “alternative” methods such as loop the line or wrapping the line in the clips. They will get you by in just fine most of the time.
When I started salmon fishing, I went out and bought the OR-18’s and was glad I did. Now I use them for everything and I fully agree with Mark above. They are the cat’s meow for super lines.
Add the “snapper” release to your boards, you’ll be glad you did. Putting that loop in the line is a pain, especially in wind/waves and with cold wet hands.
if you are running tattle flags with deep diving cranks like RR 800 and 600’s id still recommend wrapping the line around the or 18 twice or three times. I used fireline for trolling for 1.5 years and yeah i found out too that the or 18’s are the only way to go.
I retrofit my Offshore boards with Church Tackle snap weight replacement clips. Holds Fireline and not as expensive as the Snappers.
