Hey guys I have never fished the fall before. This year I have made it my goal to learn to catch walleye in the fall. I live and fish in nebraska. We fish man made lakes ranging from 2,200 acres upto like 13,000 I believe. The main lakes I fish don’t have much structure to them. Mostly big open flats. They do have some points and drop offs and stuff. They range from 2-35 ft deep. How would you guys go about targeting them? Where would you look for them at? What tactics are good? Would you look for them in the same spots as where we catch them in the spring? Thanks for the help guys.

Fall bite can loads of fun. With long flats like your talking long lining and leadcore with cranks should produce. If u find them stacked up you cant beat a jig and a minnow parked right on top of em.

Weeds can also be a major key that time of year if you can find any. Long lining the shallow shorelines at or after dark is a good producer, and also trolling the shallower side/flat with a good drop off in the morning and eve’s.

Like mention use trolling to locate fish and if you find them bunched up slow down and pitch a jig/plastic, jig/bait or even a crank if shallow enough.

Thanks for the help so far guys. ——————————————————————————–

Hey guys I was wondering if the following baits would work: rapal minnow rap, deep tail dancer, rapala original floating lure, storm original thunderstick, storm original thunderstick jr?? Cabelas has these lures on sale right now. What sizes would you get???

Also in the shallow of water do you think slabs would work???
