fishing near Minneapolis airport

    My boy just moved to St Paul and was wondering about the fishing opportunities on the river near the airport. Is a boat nessesary to fish that stretch of water??

    There is lots of shore fishing areas along the river in the cities. Many parks and boat landings with places to shore fish.

    St. Paul’s airport (Holman Field) or Mpls St Paul international?

    I don’t know about open water, but a friend of mine has had good luck ice fishing right off the end of the runway in Ft. Snelling Park. MSP airport.

    Yeah, Snelling State Park has a LOT of room for shore fishing and some really nice logjams and holes. Not to mention the confluence of the MN and the Great Mother River… also available by shore.
