Thinking about taking my son up for his first attempt for walleyes. Was hoping to fish the east or southern part of the lake. Do any of you guys that have been up there this week or so have any suggestions?
I was thinking of keeping it simple and doing a little corking.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Hope you read through all of the reports in the “reports” forum!! Lots of good info from the Staffers and Reporters there.

The bite is as good as it gets. Best in several years for sure. If you struggle to get keeper slots during the day, make sure to stick it out for the last few hours 7-9:45 pm. Corking the rock structure on the east and south sides is on fire!

Went last weekend and found em on the northside in 15 ft with a slip rig. Lots of smaller fish at night, and better ones in the morning.

Was there from 6-6 to 6-10, fished out of Hunters, never went any further than 2 mile. Fish were caught on lindy rigs and leeches from 21′ to 12′, drifting smaller rocks and sand, slots and bigger fish were easy to catch. At night set up on some close rock piles with bobbers and leeches, 17′ to 12′ all the fish you wanted to keep you entertained, the bite is great, when you’re done, it’s a very short boat ride back to the ramp.
