What bobber stops does everyone use when slip-bobbering? I have gone through a few different brands and they are all junk. They come unraveled and then tangle up in the rod guides while casting.

I use this style but change out often as needed, each trip out I change out as regular maintenance.trimming the ends ,leaving just long enough to pull tight if they loosen, mine never get caught on the guides

Here is a trick I learned years ago…. I bought a pack of slip-knots, don’t know the name of them..but they had like a waxy feeling to them, they really gripped the line. I have yet to see them again, so I now take some of my string wax,for my bow and put some on my fingers and rub into my slip knots. They hold a whole lot better that way Give it a try it works

Jeez Big G, first the 9/6 boat letter thing, now bow wax? You’re the man! When I get home (if) this eve, I’m going to find the waxed dental floss and do some reverse engineering

JR’s Tackle in Brooklyn Park (just a couple north of Fleet Farm) makes all the bobber stops for Cabela’s. I bought a pack of his for $5 that’s lasted me more than 2 full seasons… And I go thru a lotta bobber stops.

They make both the rubber ones on the wire loops (not good for your mono!) and the string ones shown above. Their 100 pack is $4.99 and they include beads.

Be prepared to go NUTS tho… They sell thousands of jigs to Rainy resorts among many other places and the have a million things you’ll never be able to live without…

I bought a “Tye your own” kit from DuBro($10) about 5-6 years ago and they work great.
Besides the tyeing tool it comes with 50yds of line….which seems a bit waxy.
I’m just starting on 2nd spool of line($8) so it lasts a long time.

I run a lot of slip bobbers catfishing and the tag ends don’t need to be trimmed all that much and you can always tighten them a bit. 3/4 inch of each tag end for my rig and i really like the pretied ones with the tube in the middle. Well worth the money. I think i might try Gs advice too that sounds like a winner.
