I am just starting to use some of the BfishN jigheads and have a quick question. What is the best knot to use on these? A regular Trilene knot or a knot that leaves a small loop so the jighead has alittle more movement. Thanks in advance.

Trilene knot or any other tight knot will work just fine

For mono, a regular cinch knot. (Not the improved cinch or Trilene knot)

Uni-knot, improved clinch or palomar works fine for me.

I prefer a Rapala type knot. This allows for more movement on the jig. The loop allows it to swing.

I will back John up on on the regular clinch knot. If you snag that jig and have to break it off….it will break off at the knot. I love tying a palomar knot…but if you get that stuck…good luck…your line will come apart anywhere down to your jig.

I’ll 2nd the Polomar. I use it exclusively, especially with superline/Fireline. Just straighten’s most hooks right out.

I’ve never lost a fish due to line break with a polomar knot considering I use 4# Cajun or Flourocarbon Line for Walleye Jigging.

    Palomar for me too.

I find I have pretty good luck running my main line at 10-12#’s then add a ball bearing swivel and about 3-6 foot of 6 to 8# test leader to the jig.

Breaks off only the leader and the swivel helps line twist.

I tie Palomar knots anytime I am using a synthetic line but with mono I use a trilene knots or any other that holds tight to the eye works. The stronger the better. This is the weakest point when fighting big fish! I like to have the line facing up on the jig when ever you can. A trilene knot seem to grip better with mono for me because I can tighten the tag end and melt a knob to prevent sliping if you know what I mean?? Having that knot on the top of your eye will help keep you out of trouble IMO. A loose or crooked knot will put a slant or spin in your jig often and that is the enemy.
