Growing up I worked the Wave Wacker tourney on Mille Lacs. He was always the first one to pull a joke or just bs. Top notch in my book.

I meet Gary quite a few years ago when I was the Tournament Director for the LPO, he was prefishing for a FLW Tounament on pool 4 and came to our weigh in to check things out, I got to talk to him for quite a while and you will not meet a nicer more down to earth guy, a few years later I ran into him at a FLW tournament on the pond and he rememberd me by name.

I was fishing Big Winnie about 10 years ago in a VERY dense fog, which made me very very nervous when hearing boats going by at high throttle, but when the fog lifted not more than 50 yards away was Mr. Walleye fishing. He wasn’t catching much either. I think we both were just waiting for the fog to lift. I have also attended several of his seminars at boat shows. Seems like a very nice regular guy.
