I just purchased a bunch of the H2O jigheads and various packs of their Ringtail Worms. I have never used these before but was wondering which is the correct way to put the plastic on the jighead, ringtail UP or tail DOWN for best fishing results? Thanks in advance.

I am a tail DOWN guy. Don’t be afraid to play with the length of the ringworm to better match the local forage.

Tail down, too. Although “I’ve heard” that when you put the tail facing up, it works well when the fish are tight lipped. I don’t know if it’s true or not No, to be honest, I fish them tail down 90% of the time, but once and a while, I will fish it tail up. The biggest thing is the length of bait. I agree, sometimes biting an inch off before putting the ringy on your jig can be the key, and it’s happened to me a lot that biting it down was the key. Good luck!

You should look for the seam in the RW.Come up thru the seam mark in the bottom so the tail is facing down and make sure to come up thru the seam at the opposite side, then put the RW to the back of the jig head. This will keep your jig running staight..

And like said above…don’t forget to bite off chunks of the RW to adjust the length..Fish Dig It

FYI – I use dip-it for spikiing the tail with different colors and scent.

Definitly tail down. And I never shorten the length. They always seem to take them head first and always have the whole thing in their mouths. Once you start catching fish on them, you’ll never go back to live bait. The best tip I can give you on working them,is DO NOT try and fish them the same way you fish a jig. They seem to want them more horizotal then vertical. Cast, lift, drop, or short pulls. Hold them against the current and let the tail do the work. Always try to drop them back on a tight line. those bites seem to be lighter than the ones when you are just holding them. The bites that come when you are just holding it off the bottom, you’ld have to be def, dumb and blind to miss those. They will rock your world.
