I shared my boat with my cousin on Saturday in pool 8. We tried a back cut to the second channel early in the morning in 6 – 20 f.o.w looking for a big bite with no luck. Then we moved to a different location looking for something with a good size back current or eddy to pitch some ringworms and blades to. We ended the day catching 30-40 walleyes and saugers. There were 8 walleyes that were 15″ – 18″ and 6 of them were milking males and two females full of eggs. (Both females released of course.) Best presentation was pitching green 5/16 oz. jigs tipped with purple ringworms in 17 – 20 f.o.w. Water temps varied from 48° – 51° depending on where we were. All in all it was a great day to be on the water (minus the wind of course) and a few walleyes made it home for the fry pan.
I can’t wait until we get out to fish in your new rig you ordered Peter.
