    Managed to boat another 30″ giant this weekend on the Rainy, any idea of weight? 30″ byjust under 17″ girth. Amazingly heavy fish. I will get a pic up soon as I download them

    I use this formula for walleyes….girth x girth x length divide by 800

    17x17x30=8,670 divide by 800= 10.84 lbs…

    Hard to say this time of year with the spawn around the corner….either way sounds like a true giant! congrats

    Thanks Cal, another guy hooked a 29 that went 11 about an hour before mine bit. Those lake fish are plumb full of eggs!

    Congrats on the pig!

    I caught a 30 1/4″ X 17 1/4″ on the Rainy that went 11lbs 12ozs. She came a minute after I release a 28″ that went 8lbs 12ozs . I hope I can top that this weekend?

    Good Luck!

    I landed a 28 1/2″er last year with a 17″ girth. She went 10.53. Not a pre-spawn fish, mid summer and feeding heavily!
