I was home working on some details in my new ranger 619, when Sheds called me and said he was taking a 1/2 day vacation and asked me to join him.
Well I couldn’t hardly pass up an offer like that !!!
We got up there about 1pm and there was very limited parking and the first open water day was here and the weather was absolutely gorgeous !!!
Reports of guys coming off the water were..Got a two man limit, we limited out in 2 hours, they are committing suicide…this got our hearts beating with excitement !!!
Well , with the ice shelf that was covering a good portion of the fish able area broken up this morning and now it was floating down stream, and the bluebird skies at mid day,,,shut these fish right down It was two hours before we had our first walleye…
Slow through out the day, we did manage to catch 5 nice eaters..Fishing in and around the 20′ mark and using the Purple Chart tail RW and PT along with the 5/16 Purple Pearl Hair Jig (no minnow) from BfishN Tackle.
All in all it was great to get the boat under the feet, replacing the ice…
Oh and one more thing…I did get a chance to take a picture of the nicest looking Lund boat on the river…
