I finally got the boat out of storage and everything put back into its rightful place. Batteries charged and topped off , new spark plugs , full tank of gas ( I hope the wife doesnt question that transaction in the check book since I told her we did not have enough gas to go to minneapolis last weekend) , fishing partner lined up and ready to go . Now it will be the longest week I have ever lived waiting for 3:30 am saturday morning to come . Hope to see a few familier faces and yes Dean and BK I willl be bringing cookies . Please place orders below and I will have the wife whip some up for you .

    Did someone say “cookies” ?

I would request that she make what she darn well feels up to making…appreciation for efforts ahead of time!

With our very clean water right now,the worst bite is from 10 am to 2 pm.If possible adjust your schedule accordingly,or at the least, not have too high of expectations during mid day. Details when you get here.Good bite this morning!

Oh boy, I’m looking forward to them…could you put “4 River Rat Randy” on that bag? I owe him some anyway.

Clear water? We released a channel cat an darn near at the same time said we could see it close to 10 feet.

The only success we had during my last trip down during midday was to rig with about a 3/8 oz weight, a plain red hook on a 2-foot leader and a lively minnow, worked slow.

My friends will chuckle as they read that statement, because they know how much I adore rigging.

Rigging? I wish I would have tried it the past couple of times we were down there. I figured the water was to clear for it to work. The sauger bite for us was strong all day every time ive been down, But right before dark its too fast to handle 2 rods.

I’ll be down there at somepoint, not sure what time though. Most of you guys know but I’ll be in a green lund explorer, merc and a t8. Most likely with a frustrated look on my face.

    Dave,
I actually gave up a chance to make another 50# of baloney this weekend, just to make the trip to Pool 4, and now you’re not gonna be there? (Oh, Man!!)

Sorry Curt, it’s basketball for me this weekend and next and then I hope to be able to get serious about fishing.

I did just take about 10# of venison scraps out of the freezer to put out a quick batch of jerky but have not had time to play with that yet either

    Good luck

All I can do is sit and watch fishing programs on TV, how boring. The more I see posts like the 13.4# beauty that little Jason pulled on Friday night (GREAT FISH JASON) I’m finding myself taking small bites out of my left forearm. If I keep monitoring the IDO site I figure by the last week of March I’ll be an amputee !!!!

Hang in there Mikey, just a few more weeks. Let me know when you are coming, maybe I can pull an extra day off to spend on the water ahead of the outing with you.
