New Rapala

I was looking at some new Rapala stick baits at a recent sports show,I have unable to locate them anywere else.Has anyone else seen them, or know if they are available anywhere.

Which new one? Troll to’s, or thug’s

I believe they are called “flatraps”, the original minnow rap flattened down the sides, supposed to give a wider wobble at slower speeds and be able to stay shallow, I’m looking for them also, I do a lot of after dark shallow water fishing to avoid the crowds during the daylight hours.

Yep those are the other ones I couldnt think of.

I am not sure where you are at, but Fleet Farm has had a pretty good selection the last couple of times I have been in there. I saw them at both the Oakdale and Alexandria stores recently. I picked up a couple. I like the crome one!

i seen some ones at gander in eau clair that looked like just another stick bait but had i think a 17 or 18 dollar price tag. they has some japanesse writing on the side as well. cant think of what they are called but they must think they are lucky craft now with that kinda money for one bait

Gander Mtn Ad in the paper showed both the Trolls To and the FlatRap for $7.99 yesterday here in Rochester. Not sure if you can order online.

At $8.50 a pop (with tax) I’ll be waiting for the knock offs. I really like the Normark products, but am usually fishing snag infested areas that eat lures up…let alone the zebra cut offs.

I saw flat raps at St Cloud Fleet farm and the troll to’s at St Cloud Scheels today but never paid attention to the prices

From what i can see the new max rap is a big bait, with some fancy finishes. Really don’t like the colors I see from cabelas. Don’t know if it can compete with the big husky jerk for casting for eyes. A similar lure would be the suspending long A which I clobbered them on last fall…
I cast jerkbaits alot for eyes, and I do pay the $$ for some lucky craft. the finishes and action really work well. but a pike can ruin a day. I would’nt troll a 15$ lure in snags or pike water.
