Sheds and I went up to the dam this morning before light, trying to find some big girls roaming the shallows…

    Well…it sure was peacefull !!!

At daylight we were v-jigging in about 20 feet of water sifting thru smaller saugers that really enjoyed out 1/4 oz precision jigs loaded up with 4″ purple chartreuse tail and firecracker chartreuse tal ring worms…(from bfishntackle no doubt)

The water temp at 6am was about 30 degreese and then 32 by noon..there was plenty of frozen sheet ice up there already…

At about 11am we ended up finding a few wingdams below the dam that held some pre 20″ male walleyes that will make it to the fry pan tomorrow afternoon !!!

The Gordan’s Bay landing is in great shape…make sure to drain your trailer at the waters edge this time of year

If the weather continues it way towards winter I figure I will be on the hard water in a weekend or two down here !!!

    Be safe every one !!!

The Village Creek boat landing was coverd with ice this afternoon, I could see where a boat had broken threw to get to the channel.
    Hard water soon !!

    Dave,
Ice is starting to hit the ponds around the neighborhood. It won’t be long. The big butted gills are getting hungry. Biscuits and gravy are in the cards. Still limpin’ and gimpin’, but wouldn’t miss it.

30 degree water temps. were you standing on it? . Now that you have more time, you should mix in a Madison chain visit this winter. We have some pretty good perch fishing here and the pike are gigantic on Mendota.
