Hit pool 4 today with Curt and Marshall.Started out ugly with a dead battery After the kicker got fired we headed towards the dam after a brief stint with 3 ways (1 sauger to the boat) we finished the not so fast trip to the dam.Decided to drift with blade baits caught a few just started to get the drift dialed in and had a boat come in and anchor in the middle of the 15 boats that were drifting .We tried a few more drifts but weather it was luck or skill they were anchored right on the hump that we happened to be catching the fish on.After dodging the anchor rope we decided to go to plan b.After a short move we were set up to try something new to me casting blade baits. It wasnt long and school was in session the boys once again showed me they are fish catching machines with some very good quaility fish caught in a short period of time. After a bit of coaching I caught on and even got a few myself And not to be outdone by Marshall (the mudpuppy king ) I even caught a pup myself So in the end the anchorman turned out to be a blessing for us as it put us on more and better quailty fish Funny how things work out once in awhile Thanks again for a great day on pool 4 Curt and Marshall Here are a few pics from a very nice November day on the water

    Dinner is served!

    Nice Mess!

I had the chance to pitch blade twice this year. First time ever. One hookup and then gone and the second one knew were a tree was. So none in the boat yet. I think it’s a hoot!

and those mud puppies…they are so under rated!

We were fishing over by you guys in the slack water. What a great day to be out. We go a few puppies of our own that day. Three to be exact!! Brought in some nice fish and got to see most of the others around us catch quite a few too.

You guys were the mud puppy kings. We got to see a couple of them. The highlight of the day for me was seeing Gut hook a big Mud Puppy and then continuing to hook it as he kept trying to release it. It seemed like every time he got the hook out, it would get lodged somewhere else.

Then once that was done, he had it wrapped in the line about 30 times. I did catch a gizzard shad in the mouth on a blade bait too. That’s finesse fishing at it’s finest.
