I fish pepin most of the time and only fish pool 3 occasionaly but I think im going to try it this weekend. How are you figuring out which wing dam to anchor on? There must be 50 of them between prescott and the lock. Also can you motor over the tops of them right now? I really wish I had structure scan so I could see what wing they were on. Do you just troll over all of them and see which ones have fish using your electronics? Also anyone been fishing the croix between kiniki and prescott? Ya I know thats spelled really bad.

Right now you will need to look for some good flow over the dam. Usually the first or second one in the series under the current conditions. feeder creek seams and the points narrowing the river and have increased flow. I start by anchoring up about 15yds in front of the boil line close to the tip under these flow conditions and start off with some crank casting over the top and down the face. Bomber 6A’s and SR7’s and the like. then finish it off by pitchin a BFishN Draggon jig w/leech or 1/2 crawler to what’s left that my favorite crank did’nt eat. I try to stay away from the weekends (Tuna Trawlers) or hit it very early till about 10am on weekends. See you on P-3 Wednesday Silver/Gold Skeeter ZX-2050 Greg R

Something else you can do in this low of a flow is to anchor almost on top of the dam and cast your crank just in front of it and run it on the dam all the way back to the boat. Your crank is “in the zone” way longer than just spot casting from in front of the dam.

thats just behind the dam the boil line. You will see where the water pushes up just ahead of the boil

Well we hit the wings of pool 3 yesterday and got a real mixed bag with only one walleye to speak of but it was nice. You guys werent kidding when you said they fight like hell when they hit the current, I thought it was a lot bigger before I saw it. Sill a decent 25″
