Im heading up to leech this weekend staying on the south side. Ive fished the lake before but out of the north. Anyone know how the bite is and some starting places to try? From the reports looks like walker bay was hot a couple of weeks ago.

ill be up there this weekend too…staying at the shores east of walker. I haven’t been up there in a while … so I’ll probably start as the sand point first.

Most of the bite in walker bay around the weeds is a lot hotter this time of year. Try a slip bobber with crawlers and leeches on the weed edges.

look around otter point and 2nd duck point in sucker bay. I will be heading up this weekend for a little action. Jig and minnow in both of these locations.

how did you guys do this weekend? I tried a bunch of spots and didnt do all that well. I even ran out to submarine island and didnt catch anything out there. Almost all of our fish came out of the goose island area in 9 to 16 fow white hook and single white bead with a leech. This was my first time on the south end of the lake, I was sweating bullets going though that shallow area to get to goose island. My graph was showing like 3′ is it all sand there it shure looked like it. The guy at the bait store told me the fish were on the flats eating crayfish I trolled crayfish looking bombers and didnt get one fish. is there any truth to this?

I just spent 8 days on Leech. The first 2 were slow, but tuesday-saturday were good days. Between two of us we would catch about 50 fish a day. We only fished mornings and evenings. About half of our fish caught were between 21-26 inches. Lots of fish in the 17 inch range. We tried everything from lead core to draging jigs. In the end a lindy rig with a jumbo leech was best. The goose island area had a lot of fish in 4-16 feet, they were all over the place. Will add photos as soon as i figure out how. how.
