I havent been up to millacs since opener but were heading up for the 4th weekend and will be staying at the casino. Wondering what launch and what area would be best on this part of the lake. Also is terrys the only launch to pay to get a spot? I have a feeling ill have to be on the lake at 3 in the morning to get on at the launch by the casino. Whats everyone doing up there now cranks, spinners by day slip bobbers at night?

All of the above! Check out the fishing reports from over the weekend.

Brad Juaire, Chris Tuckner and Rob Stenger all put up basin trolling reports. That bite looks to be going VERY strong. Joe Sceguar put up a slip bobber report that featured some BIG bobber fish. So it sounds like you’ll hit things square with regards to the bite.

Virtually every presentation you listed is producing. Decide which way you feel the most comfortable fishing, and go after them. Fish are on the flats, rocks and open basin.

You should have no problem at the launch in Garrison. The water is a little skinny there, but using caution you should have no problem at all. The Casino (Sha-Bush-Kong sp?) is quite shallow and eats many props. My advice there is to use your trolling motor going out. The props are cheaper!
Terry’s is nice as it is a protected harbor with a deeper launch. I believe the fee is $10.

    Good luck!

If you head up to the north end to fish, Red Door is a good place to launch:

Terry’s is $10 to launch. I’ve also launched out of Garrison Public landing by Pike’s Point in my 21 foot glass boat and it is plenty deep. Use the south pad of the two which is more level, trim up the motor and keep down the center going out, get to either side and the rocks will not be very forgiving to the prop.

Another Note: Right now for slots I would go deep rock/gravel or transitions during the day and shallower at night. For big Fish, cocnetrate on the Mud and Open basin.

Thanks for all the help. We didnt get large numbers of fish but got some keepers and some big ones. My wife landed her PB of 26.5 which was exciting. We had to use a handheld GPS with a chip since my HDS wasnt working. A hard lake to fish with out that!! We pulled most of our eater fish off the east side of curlys or what the gps showed to be east side. Thanks again.
