    How much line do I need to let out to get a #7 shad rap and #7 jointed shad rap down to 15 feet. I am flat lining those with no kinds of weight

    I don’t have the bible with me, with 10# test = 90′. I am guessing, and I haven’t trolled yet this season so please wait until someone can help.

    book says
    SR7= 11FT deep @140ft of 10lb test
    SR8= 15ft deep @200ft
    SR9= 15FT DEEP @ 90FT 19FT deep max 200ft

    Jointed shad raps less line out. They dive alot deeper.

    Shad Rap RS dives deeper than a regular balsa shad rap, as does the the glass shad rap, if I remember correctly without getting out the bible.

    Regular shad raps which are Balsa run alot shallower than the RSR,GSR&JSR’s which are all a composite material.Variables such as line diameter & speed will affect diving depths & performance as well.Just off the top of my head I would say you need about 150’to get a #7 reg shad rap to 15’on 10lb dia.line @2mph.RSR & GSR about 100′ & JSR about 90′.Running 10lb braid you can knock off about 20% length to acheive similar depths!Hope this helps.

    I would agree with that!
