Shallow, aggressive walleyes are easy targets for plastics fished in the warming waters of early summer. I’ve been enjoying a very consistent plastics bite for walleyes recently, focusing nearly exclusively on Goldcracker Paddletails from B-Fish-N tackle.

One of the things that I’ve been doing is modifying the paddletails according to my Tournament-tested tackle tip #1. This modification gives the paddletails a gentle, crankbait-like wobble as you retrieve them. My retrieves are steady, focusing on the upper couple feet of the water column.

    Good Tip Jason,

I just might have to try that this weekend. Love that picture!

Don’t forget the ringworms as well. As lakes begin to warm up enough for leech activity, the ringworm bite really turns on!
