As hard as some of those lakes were speared this year I am suprised the limits are that large.Must be a “keep the tourists happy at the expense of the resource”!As sportsmen with a conscience lets consider heavy emphasis on total catch and release. Tom

You northern cats should come south and fish Green Bay and Lake Wisconsin. I hear the bite is off the hook in both places.

Overexploitation, don’t care who does it or for what reason–it’s bad.
My stomach was turned on this issue many years ago.
I don’t think of great walleye fishing and ceded territory being in same sentence anymore.
What good does fish management do when you have some guy with a spear, at night, with a headlamp, with no said limit (or at least one that is followed), spearing during the spawn, indiscriminately taking fish-big, small, female, male,as reported in past years-some of the biggest fish in the system leave via this method, etc. The bitching goes on and on.
guess it is fish management for the few rather than the good of the all.
