Whats the word on Pool 3?

Noticed that there were quite a few vehicles at the public launch in Hastings this past weekend. I had good intentions, but had some battery issues at the launch and pulled the plug and went home to figure it out. Any reports???

Many folks out jigging in Prescott. Catching however has been on the slow side. Most of what is being caught is small saugers. I think as the water warms we will see a pick up on the post spawn bite. I had a 26.5″ female spawned out from Pool 3 this weekend, and males milting all over. Jigs and minnows are the favored approach there. Some fish are coming on blades as well. My bigger fish have been coming off current seams pitching blades.

Over all fishing has been slow. I have been considering a 6 fish day very successful.

Thanks for the report Tuck, Hope to head out Weds afternoon with my 6 year old son. We’ll probably try jigging and see how it goes with him. May have to switch to trolling or slipbobber fishing to increase his chances?

Working at home today, so I ran the boat down to the Hasting’s public launch at lunch. The water is definately coming down, can drive thru to back up no problem. Thought I’d splash it in and fire it up since I replaced the starter batt. I ran it up and back to the dam a few times. She’s ready…

Well, we got out for a few hours with no luck. Quite a few boats out there, didn’t see much getting caught where we were hanging out. My son had fun, He liked seeing the minnows on his hooks, kept reeling it in, to check on them. Then after a while I noticed he’s got them laying on the boat gunnel, tells me he’s letting them rest…
Good times, looking forward to the next outing!
