Hit pool 11 today with a good friend to chase some eyes. The morning started out cold cold. Frozen line and uncooperative fish made for a long morning. As the day progressed the temps slowly rose and so did the action. We managed to boat about 20 or so. I kept 2 for my neighbors, a nice 17″ and 16″ sauger. The best part of the morning was the landing of my 2 biggest eyes ever. I know they dont compare to the big pigs pool 4 gives up but put a giant smile on my face. The first fish came in at 6.5 lbs. and the second fish came in at 7.8 lbs. They dont seem very big but they were super fat. The only bad part of the day was i had a bigger fish on right before i caught the 6. They fell to a plain jighead with 4″ blue gulp minnow. This is only my 3rd year seriously chasing eyes and man i couldnt have been happier. Just want to thank my friend Del for putting me on some nice fish. Dan

Thanks guys, just a side note when they hit they absolutely smashed it. Its too bad I didn’t land or see the first big fish. It hit 3 foot off the bottom and just stayed down. I had it half way up and it just shook its head. I have a st. croix legend tournament and it had it doubled over. If it was an eye it was BIG and if not it was still a super heavy fish. Thanks again, Dan

Nice job JD! Congratulations on both those PB.
Nothing wrong with those two sow bellies. They are very good looking walleyes and fish like that are always welcome in my boat.
