Its still a month before the 18th Yooper Invasion to P-4 (since 2002)…so we have Extreme Cabin Fever!

I know I will have a plan when the ol Cliner slides off the trailer

    blade pitchin rod…EX 69MLXF with 6# braid…1/4 oz blade

    jig/Ringworm pitchin..LE 66MLF with 6# mono

    vertical jig/blade..LE 63MXF with 8# braid

I imagine the water will be up, but who knows? So I make my color/size decisions based on IDO reports and Deans intelligence…give or take

What about you guys? How will you set up?

Well I guess I’m more of big fish mode as of late, then ripping the lips off a 100 sauger, Last year we had a one really nice day out there (big fish all day), I plan to try and recreate that a couple times this spring.

I plan to fish away from the boats, I plan on mostly pitching. Right now my focus is on blade baits, I slowly feel I’m starting to get there, it’s a little hard to have some of the confidence when you’re fishing a spot that produces a couple bites an hour, but I’m sticking to it. Still hunting my 30+ incher 10+ pounder….

I’m in the same mode Nick…Especially in March, when there may be more big girls up river. I really can say that my two go to rods many times will both be rigged with small blades of different color schemes.
While I’ll always love to pitch plastics, pitching blades is getting more and more of my attention…and I’m getting more proficient at it…

I think I will tailpipe the yoopers boat and slide in between them and shore, pitch whatever they have on and hope for the best.

You would be safe with most other boats Stuart…but if the water is high, we’ll be way in those trees!
