I just wanted to share a couple pics of the good fortune I had this past weekend up at the cabin in WI. I decided to put some time in walleye fishing this past weekend by lindy rigging with large sucker minnows. The lake I was fishing has some good sized pike in it and also has a few
nice walleyes. There aren’t very many walleyes in the lake but when you do get one it’s usually a good fish. After two hours of fishing I was about to call it quites for the morning when I went to hit one last
spot. I wasn’t there 5 minutes and I felt a hit. I opened the bale and gave it some line…felt the weight and set the hook. I thought for
sure it was a big pike as it took a big run right after I hooked it. When I finally first saw the fish my jaw dropped when I could see a big walleye about 4 feet below the surface. As you can imagine it was a
chore to net this fish with an 8′ leader when I was the only one in the boat! I was lucky enough to get the net under her after a couple runs at boat side. It was a good thing the hook was perfectly in the cornerof her mouth! She hit the tape at 30 3/4″ and weighed 10 lbs 5 oz. A pretty girthyfish for July.
CONGRATS STEVE!
