I know it took me a while, but it took my daughter 2 trips and about 2 total hours of fishing. Got her out on Lake Wisconsin for a couple hours this evening in search of her first legal walleye. It took 5 minutes and she had a 17.5″ walleye in the net. New personal best, which lasted 10 minutes and she had a 19″ in the boat. And about 20 minutes later, she latched into a “snag”. One look at her rod and it was obvious that she had a good fish on, and not a snag. She worked the fish to the boat like a semi-pro, until it got in the net. In her excitement, she raised the rod and pulled the fish right out of the net and back into the lake. Luckily, it was well hooked and we got it back into the net. A hair under 28″ and 8.5 pounds on the digital scale. Being a 15 year old girl that is all girl, she didn’t want to hold the fish for the picture, so I had to. Only had the cell phone, but at least it had a camera. Hopefully, she isn’t going to be expecting the big fish to jump into the boat going forward now.
