Saturday was interesting for me. I caught 2 walleyes and Justin caught 1 and we lost a couple more that we were almost 100% sure were eyes by the fight. The first one we figured was a fluke, but when the fish on the flasher were still behaving that way, we thought we might just be over top of a very elusive jackpot..My question is, is it typical for wintering walleyes in the river to move around much, do they relate more to sand, wood, or mud, and is there any chance that they would hang out in water as deep as 55 feet? The ones we caught were not big at all, but I’m sure there are some good ones somwhere in that deep stuff. Just need a little help searching the area out, and my novice self is having a hard time thinking of where they might be. I have a hunch that finding a hump out in that 50 ft of water will be all it will take…
thanks,
Cade
