This has been a long time coming, and I have to put three outing into one…I was up to Mille Lacs Nov. 1st for 3 nights of fishing and had fail luck…two nights of winds and 1 night of calm…Our best night was the last night on the north side…we could handle about 4 hours and 12 walleyes until we were just tossed around about as much as we could take…Our biggest eye was 26 1/2″ all the way down to a small rock bass…
On our way back we stopped in and chatted with Dean at Everts Resort…He mentioned that we should get out on the river and catch some of the saugers that were just hammering the K-Grubs…We didn’t have anything for pitching so Dean got us all the tackle we needed to get into the saugers and off we went…I caught saugers on 6 different colors of K-Grubs and NO BAIT !!! We were using KG’s and RW’s with the new Barred Series Jigs..they have GLOW EYES and have a great appeal to the eyes and saugers…got to love that Hung out till dark there and then came in and had a couple of beers with Brian and Sean Lyons, Eric, Dean..We sure wish we could have stuck around but our trip was over..
Then yesterday afternoon after the Packers schooled Brad Childress and Co. Sheds and I went out for a quick outing. We ended up with 9 keepers (but released everything) and a great afternoon on the water…
The plastic bite is really going strong on the river now…water temp was 46 deg and the saugers were just hammering the chart pepper and firecracker chart tail RW’s
I have been using the new Glow Eyes jigs I have out and I think I have boated more saugers with these jigs…
Well I hope to get out some more so I can enjoy these hungry walleyes and saugers.
