Fished the lower end of pool 10 this week-end and things are still pretty ugly. High flow with alot of debris has been the norm this last month.
Tried concentrating on a few closing dams in back shoots in the clayton, wyalusing area with little to show except for the usual sheephead, carp and cat.
Water temps are at 55 deg.dropping 14 degrees from the previous Sunday, hopefully this will get the bite going in the right direction.
I had a challenge ahead of me this week-end in taking an old family friend out on the water in pursuit of his first ever walleye. Denny, who recently retired from Colorado has moved back to Gods country and has been severly stricken by the walleye flu. Well, not having any luck on the rocks we did find a few walleyes and some nice cat tucked into some wood in a deep hole created by another high flowing feeder shoot. They were tough to get to with us donating our fair share of baits but Denny did hook-up with this nice 24″ eye. Alot of fun netting that for you Denny,I’m glad I was there!
Lost a few other heavy fish so I’m looking forward to going back and snoop around this small but potentially good wintering hole.
