I spent the afternoon on lower Tainter. The cooler weather has helped clean the lake up somewhat, but I still wouldn’t put a high end boat in yet.
I put five walleyes in the boat the biggest at 16″ the smallest at 14″.No action at ALL on live bait or the heralded “Gulp”…nada.I pulled every style of crank that I own and the perch shad rap that worked last time yielded nothing. One lure,a blue/orange walleye diver put every fish in the boat.Of course on the last pass of the day that lure attached itself to a fish crib,it is now a permanent fixture of that crib
I’d like to say I figured out a pattern, but it would be a lie.The fish were taken from 8 fow to 15 fow, some near the channel, some on flats. It was fun,I kept one walleye and a half dozen perch (1/8 oz orange jigs/crawlers).That provided a wonderful breakfast for three grand daughters my wife and myself.

    skunked,

I was out on tainter a couple of weeks ago. I am pretty sure that I saw you out there. I was the green lund with the loud four year old boy. I haven’t been out there since but what a good year out there!

It’s possible that I saw ya,I have “selective” hearing and it’s rare indeed that a young un will catch my ear. I have a little 14′ green aluminum/25 hp yamaha.
I fish tainter probably eight to a dozen times a year.Usually it is a disappointment, but your right this was the best year I’ve had out there.I wish I could figure the gills’ out. When ya find em they are NICE,but no rhyme nor reason to where they are.
