what is the best spots to fish on the ely area lakes and what has been working for you as live bait and other tackle.

I was up on the gunflint last weekend and i pulled spinners around with leeches and worms

worms seemed to catch alot of smallmouth

leech with spinners didn’t do awhole lot

i switched to just a floater and a leech like anywhere from 12″ leader to 24″ leader Drifting really slow or pulling them really slow caught all my walleyes. that worked best for me but for me the bit was slow. they were there but they didn’t bit so hot. I am gonna head back up in another week for a long weekend good luck
