Only one Crankbait?

Since the walleye guys have their own forum I thought this would be an interesting question.

If you could only have one Crankbait the entire open water period what would it be? Now remember….only one.

This was actually really hard to answer because of the many different tournament locations I fish in a year.

    My answer:

#10 or #12 Husky Jerk in Firetiger (Shallow not Deep)

    Only one now

Mine would be a #5 shad rap goldfish. But Derek talked me into buying some Salmo’s & I just received my order today so maybe I’ll change my answer.

I will pick a number 7 Shallow Shad Rap Firetiger. Of course I am going to need some leadcore or downriggers.

Phew! You had me worried there. I was thinkin maybe there was a new law or something. One c-c-c-c-c-crankbait??!!! See, I can’t even say it.

I have admitted my addition, I attend crankbaitoholics anonamous religiously, but that does not mean I am cured. If I could only have 1 crankbait, I’d probably just end it all.

Not even Eve could resist the fruit!

One crankbait, who ya tryin to kid???!!!

You’ll get my Pearl #5 JSR when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

The original no.7 bomber (not the cheap plastic ones of today- Shame on you Bomber!) Through the years this crank produced big time for river eyes and bass. Chatreuse-orange belly.

hmm – I have caught more species of fish on Rebel craws than any other crankbait model combined… not sure on how they list their sizes but the ones that are 2.5 to 3 inches long with the shallow bill and the color would be either olive or chartreuse with an orange belly… that said I am an addict to many of those listed above (not the Salmos, yet…) but just to throw some diversity into the mix these cranks are another to consider anyway… Chuckles

Tough deciding this one. Would have to go with a #5 or #7 Shadrap Deep Diver in Firetiger.
    Thanks, Bill

#5 Fat Rap. Original Craw color. I don’t think there’s a place that has water where it won’t work.

It is a pretty tough question. When I was thinking about it I was thinking about casting and trolling in the spring and fall and of course, you would need snap weights or lead core in the summer.

Its a good question…..For all my fishing, I would have to go for a #5 Deep Shad Rap (firetiger).

Definitely…I think 50 percent or more of my fish were caught on this on the Mississippi last season.
