Up at my new place on Rainy Lake. Never fished open water there before so not sure of presentation, imagine rigging.

You guys can have that lake at midnight. I’ll be at D’s talkin with the locals. Actually the wife doesn’t fly in until 10, so I probably won’t be getting to the lake until well into the morning.

    Gonna shift gears this year…

I’ve waited for many years to start the tradition of fishing with my kids on opener. Opening day will be spent with the kids chasing bluegills or crappies in the Chisago area

Then I’ll try to take a day off later during the week and hit the St. Louis or Mille Lacs

    Good luck to all!

    Jim

One of my best friends is getting married in Winona and the reception is at Holmen. I therfore am draggin’ the boat to Trempeauleau!!! I ain’t missing the opener for a wedding, so look out P7. Then back home to work over Trout Lake & and the Flambeau Chain. Some of the smaller lakes could be on the post spawn feed with the water temps here. The big lakes will be in the spawn.

Its going to be pool 2 for me again this year. Should be good fishing and little boat traffic. Early next week it will be mille lacs after some of the weekenders head home.
