This is for all the walleye guys out there. A lot of you have probably used the B fish N tackle moxi before. I’ve only used the orange core and and purple colors. Have any of you guys had luck on any other colors?

Chart pepper, Firecracker chart, goldcracker chart, great white, peanut butter jelly etc…. All of those have had great days for me at some point.

There’s a ton of those colors of Moxi’s in peeps tackle boxes just this spring!
Lot’s of good reports and at least one tanker reportedly came in on an oystershell moxi.
April 11, 2014 at 8:11 am #1403494Think it would be tough to pick a color that does not catch fish at one time or another. White for sure is one color to try. Think a lot of the time its what you feel confident in that catches fish. Other times they do prefer one color over another.

Chart/white core
great white
stewarts pro blue
firecracker chart tailnhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348April 11, 2014 at 8:56 am #1403514Match your forage. I’ve fished moxies, pulsars to death without one walleye. Some areas are deadly for them, others not. That being said the SMB love white pulsars come season opener, and the chart. and firecracker come winter. Where do you live, I probably be able to give you a mixed bag of ones I have I never use, see what works for ya.

Do they make one that looks like an 8″ bullhead for BK?
April 11, 2014 at 10:21 am #1403543Not in 8″, but there is a 33.5″ Bullhead. Personally I think it looks more like a Goby or even a chunk of wood with hooks attached.

You sure about that? Sounds like a lot of bull(head)
Biggest one listed in your link is 3.25 inches.
April 11, 2014 at 11:18 am #1403560I wouldn’t get too hung up on color. I’ve always thought that color is an important factor, but not nearly as important as action and profile. In deeper/stained water, where the platics tend to shine for eyes, I think that the fish are more keyed in on the most obvious factors…what the bait looks/sounds like and how it is moving. Don’t get me wrong, color comes into play, but how well does a walleye see color vs the plastic as a whole. My whole point is to say that if you’re just using the moxie, you might want to try some of the other popular plastics that have different profiles too. I would try Ringworms, Pulse-r, and paddletails. These span the spectrum of slim body/small tail to fat body/thumper tail. Then move into different colors.
To answer your original question though… all the colors will catch fish.April 11, 2014 at 1:36 pm #1403600What are some of your other favorite walleye producing plastics? Im looking to add more to my tackle box for opener.
nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348April 11, 2014 at 1:57 pm #1403609Hands down. Used the 3″ last year and they loved em but average size was down, 12-20″. Hopefully the bigger 3.5″(the body is much bigger even with only extrs 1/2″) will put out size this year, not as many, but in my world take one 26″ than a dozen of the smaller.
FYI fleet farm had certain xraps on clearance for $5-7. Saw them ring up and was hard put to not and get a few more

Whoops. Typo. A lure close to 3′ would be tough to cast.
