I just posted a report on casting and trolling cranks, just wanted to give another tidbit on the clackin Rap. When casting weeds the clackin rap yo-yod back is getting those wrist breaking hits that everyone loves. It has worked well in clown and moss back shiner patterns in that 6-10 fow range with scattered weeds. Most hits come on the start of the upswing of the next hit, with most fish heading in the other direction . It was a great shore bait because it Casts a Mile. Give this bait a try next time on the weedlines.- Q

Look at the humpback on that 3rd pic! Ohh the extra meat a guy could take off that.

This is nice to see because I picked some clackin’ raps out of the clearance bins in WI and I’ve been catching bass, walleye, and northern pike on the things. Also, that SureSet hook on the rear has often had the fish GOOD and HOOKED! After tasting success, I went and got more so members of the family could use them too!

I haven’t had any luck on the clackin’ minnow yet though. Any input?

This is typical of Dakota raised walleyes in these ‘newer’ bodies of water in which the ecosystem has exploded. These ‘eyes have small heads and big bodies from extremely fast growth.

Good for fryin’ up in the pan!

Those eyes might be the same breed as in pool 2 they get big with small heads also.

Tried the clanking rap last Tuesday fishing the saint croix valley walleye league and they worked great for me pulling them behind the boat on lead core.

The clackin minnow turned some fish for me earlier at the end of may as it is able to be worked a bit slower than the clackin rap. I am assuming this was because of colder water temperature that the slower moving bait with more of a wobble produced better, just a thought. I like the clackin rap right now for the simple reason that it can be worked from a variety of depths and fishes very fast making it a great bait to search out shallow expansive areas, much of what I have out here in South Dakota. – QB
