After our morning duck shoot I decided to try P2 for the late afternoon bite. Started trolling long line flicker shads on my favorite trolling run in 12 to 13 fow; had to change colors a few times but when I found the right color fishing was prety good. The speed that work best for me was about 2 1/2 mph both up and downstream. Also, I went through the same area I was catching them in and tried blade baits but couldn’t connect.
Numbers were good but size was pretty average. Alot of fish in the 17″ to 20″ with my biggest around 22″ or so. Mostly walleyes but a few Saugers.
The wind was from the North at 20 mph at times which made wingdam fishing tough (at least for me). I tried a couple WD’s right at dark with plastics but nothing. Hopefully, the cooler weather will get the Fall plastice bite in full swing soon.
I also want to thank the guy in the white Cresliner boat (w/ a white dog) who helped me pull my boat of my trailer after it slid off less than halway in the water.
