Thought I would show a side by side view showing 2 different walleyes . First is a 26.5 from yesterday on Pepin and the 2nd photo a 29 from last week on Mill Lacs, Forage matters. Maybe we could stock some shad in the pond?

I’ve seen some skinny 28+” fish come from Mille Lacs, seems the lomger and older they are the thinner they are.

    Nice couple of fish though

IMO Mille Lacs is the funnest lake to fish with all the structure and numbers of fish, but they sure seem to be skinny. I cant see the harm in putting shad in Mille Lacs, the muskies probably wouldn’t mind either

imho adding shad to the forage base only improves it.
they fight with the ZMs for plankton…

Thats about par for ML. The 26 and 27″ eyes are the heaviest in the lake, and very chunky may I add. The overs that come into tourneys are very skinny comparativley.

It does not seem to be a forriage based issue in from my perspective.

I always figured that it was because river fish had to bilk up to play in the current. Lake fish have the piscatorial version of desk jobs.
