Adding to my arsenal for trolling spinners and cranks. I’ve been using Limit Creek rods for about five years now and absolutely love them. The Smoothie is hands down my go to rod for walleye fishing. For trolling I’ve used the 5′ trolling rods. This year I’m stepping up to the new 12′ Trolling Rod! My buddy River Dan has been using one and they are awesome. Talk about keeping your line away from your boat!! You won’t get much farther than you can with this 12 footer and still have great feel and control. This is going to be my go to rod up on Mille Lacs and for my second line on the river. The price point is great on these at just under $120. I have yet to find a better, more affordable off the rack rod that had the sensetivity and durability of the Limit Creek rods.

    Medium Heavy Power
    Trolling Rod
This 12’0″ two-section trolling rod has the perfect balance between power and action. The
LCT212MHF loads very well, keeping the hooks in the fishes mouth, yet having enough
power to both hold its form while trolling, and stiff enough to feel the vibration of your crankbait.
This rod is surprisingly light and can be held in hand to impart action on the lure, though it is
designed as the outside rod, when spreading multiple rods for trolling. The 12-footer is best used
for longline and leadcore trolling crankbaits.

Made with: High modulus graphite rod blank, Dynaflow stainless steel guides and tip,
high grade cork, graphite reel seat, and no slip rod handle.

    Suggested Retail Price:
    $119.99

I cannot disagree with your commercial more strongly. My experiences with Limit Creek rods has seen two smoothies bust between the 2nd and 3rd eye under light load. These rods are made in china and have bad quality control and the warranty is years shorter than rods with better quality at the same price point. I know you’re buddies with Turk and he gives you a discount on rods so you have to say what you have to say but in my opinion there’s better rods available out there for less money. My 2 cents.

Might have just had a bad rod or two it is a smaller company, which is one of the things I like about them, I guarantee big companies like St. criox have had a bad rod now and then. I’m finding that I love my limit creeks more and more each day, especially my trolling set.

I have several Limit Creek Rods and have not had 1 issue with any of them. I have the 5′ shorties, Smoothies and the telescoping trolling rods. All have performed flawlessly. I also will be adding 2 of the 12’ers to my line up.

is this a minnesota based company? I’m all for supporting the home team. How is the customer service would be my question? Someone mentioned the shorter warranty but IMO that doesnt really matter to me as long as the customer service is top notch. I broke a st croix rod 2 years after the 5 year warranty was up, they replaced it no questions asked. It was broke between a dock and the boat so they certainly didnt have to replace it. Would limit creek do that?

They’re in WI. Doesn’t matter though as the rods are just imported from China. If you want to support a local company from WI St. Croix would get my vote hands down. As for Limit Creek they have the shortest warranty of any rod company out there and the service is horrible unless you count answering the phone quickly and giving you a NO-HECK NO response to a broken rod. The guy I talked to wouldn’t do anything for me which had me very peeved about the whole deal. And the more I asked around about the Limit Creek rods the more I heard about cronic breaking issues. At one bait shop these rods are known as cripple creek rods due to the rash of broken rods. The owners business model is to give rods away at a discount to average joe anglers that post on fishing boards hoping to get them to talk them up. Buyers BEWARE!
