Decided to head out on pool 4 last night with a buddy left about an hour before dark and headed for the dam. The wind was blowing right up to the dam, the only way to get out of it was on the Mn side and we didn’t catch much there, a few white bass and sheephead. Only cuahgt a few small sauger. So round 9:30 with the wind not lookin like it would slow decided to try and find some calmer waters to pitch. First spot we hit Elliot lands this nice 24.5″ Eye. Fished a few more spots with more white bass and sheephead. It the started to rain and we headed home, wish we had a little better look but the one nice eye made it worth the trip!!! He caught it using a 5/16 oz jig and purple/chart ringworm.

We fished last night as well. The fish really started to rip when the rain and wind picked up. From 10-2:00 am the fishing was on fire. Once the rain quit the fishing shut off. Biggest eye only went 23 inches. I think we ended up catching around fifty fish total. Wet but worth it!

    Nice walleye Ben,
a friend and I left just before it started to rain. We had multi species but no picture fish.
Angler II, nice going with all the fish, and sticking it out with some tough weather.

It was pretty bad last night, but if you tucked up against the MN side here and there you could find some reprieve The wind died about 25 mins after the rain set in, and seems like it turned the fish on. There were a few brave soulds out there, someone with a MEAN sounding boat- think it was a riverpro, and someone who had their boat rigged up for night time with the interior rope lights and all! Our biggest went 23 on the night, she was still loaded and went back in the drink. Caught a lot of real good sized saugs though last night. Soon as the boat was on the trailer, and we’d been getting soaked for well over an hour- the rain quit

Did you guys notice the water level dropping a couple feet in the last week?

Yah, I noticed the water dropped a foot or so in the last 6 days. We caught fish in the rain too last night. No big fish, but a decent number of eyes and sauger before dark and after. It was suprising the number of white bass we caught after dark. I didn’t think they were much of a night feeding fish.

^^You were slaying the sheephead and white bass!
It was a good night last night though, wish I brought my raingear, but wasn’t too bad, it was well worth it and fun catching the white bass, walleye, sauger and countless pike.
