I’ve got about 75$ to spend on some plastics for fall. I like the B’fish n’ tackle line and would buy from Dean if possible.

What would you recommend for fall wingdam fishing?

Looking for suggestions on color and style. I haven’t fished the fall that much.

    Thanks for the help,

    Dan

Since you are on a limited budget, my suggestion would be Moxies in natural colors and white for the better water clarity in the fall.

Get a hold of Dean at deanstacklebox.com and tell him what you plan to do. He will hook you up.

Moxies. White, Fire cracker/chartreuse tail, Pro blue.

Paddle Tails. Purple/chartruse tail, Oystershell, Cotton candie, White.

K Grubs. Motor Oil, Firecracker/chartreuse tail.

Ringworms. Purple/Chartreuse tail. Fire cracker/chartreuse tail, Chartreuse pepper.

These would be good to have on hand for pitching. If you are dragging Ringworms or moxies work well. Might even want to ask Dean about his ringers. For vertical jigging paddle tails work well. Dont forget the hair jigs to.

Fall is right on our door step. Good time to get stocked up for fall river fishing.

Absolutely hit up Dean. Personally, the paddle tails have a special place in my heart. I was shocked at how much vibration I felt in those when I first used them. Yeah, I know it is just a simple design and how can his be any different than other similar plastics out there. But I know with Dean’s they are reliable and I know the action I will get from them.

I will be ordering from Dean. He’s the one who got me started on plastics 4-5 years ago. Dean’s an Excellent teacher. He Always pointed me in the right direction and made me think a bit. That and the people who post on here have made me a 1000% better walleye fisherman.

$75 was ballpark. I’m sure it will end up being more.

Tell you what, I’m knocking the crap out of them on my 3″ ringers.. been catching them solid since June on them, right through the hot of the summer.

Thanks for the list Mike. I’m going to try to make it to the pool 2 get together. Have to see about work.
Pug I still remember the first bite I got on plastics. Shook my whole arm it hit so hard.

Do you guys think I should get mini moxies? I’m going to get some 325 paddle tails I think.

B BK Thanks for the tip. I have those on the list as well. How were you fishing them during the summer?

DrewsDad- were you shore fishing on Sunday morning on pool 2? My wife and I were in a gray pro v. and trolled past someone on shore that looks like your avatar.

Holy crap! what about jig heads. Sizes I think I need are 3/16 1/4 5/16. Does that sound right? what about colors? I have some silver glitter and have had good luck with the orange/yellow(?)

Going into the fall I would look at small jig sizes stating with 1/8th, 3/16th and 1/4. With the low flow right now the smaller sizes are plenty.

For jig color Im a big fan of orange/chartreuse and black. As water clarity clears in the fall I like the more natural colors like black or the glitter jigs that Dean has.

If you make it down to the get together Ill be happy to show you whats working for me at the time.

That was me and that is a good trolling run along there. I almost went there this morning; but decided to get some work done. Hope you can make it to the P2 GTG!

    I use 3/32 and 1/8 mostly.

In the summer we were throwing up on sand bars and dragging them around, pulling walleye out of 2′ of water.

Now they are starting to chase shad so they are mostly on the ledges.

Oh and I have not used a painted jig head in 5 years, pulled record numbers last year (157 walleye last summer/fall) on unpainted jig head and minnow/plastic.

Where are you buying 3″ ringers? Or are you making them yourself?
