ST. CROIX’S LEGEND TOURNAMENT® WALLEYE RODS ARE LIGHTER, STRONGER AND MORE SENSITIVE.
Park Falls, WI – St. Croix’s all-new Legend Tournament® Walleye rods are built with the latest technologies and hardware to provide serious anglers a competitive edge. With twelve technique-specific spinning models and a Bounce-N-Troll casting model, each rod is built on completely re-engineered mandrels designed with St. Croix’s proprietary Integrated Poly Curve® (IPC®) tooling technology. The blanks combine high-modulus/high-strain SCIV graphite with NSi (nano silica) resin – a proprietary Matrix Resin from 3MTM that significantly increases strength and durability with no change to the weight. The new rods are further strengthened with Advanced Reinforcing TechnologyTM (ARTTM), another St. Croix exclusive.
“The re-engineered Legend Tournament Walleye rods represent the state-of-the-art in spinning and casting rod design,” explained Jeff Schluter, St. Croix’s vice president of marketing and sales. “We’ve combined our SCIV graphite fibers with NSi – 3MTM’s amazing new Matrix Resin – and rolled each blank on mandrels designed with our own Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) tooling technology. Plus, each blank features proprietary Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART) for additional hoop strength. The result is a breakthrough in smooth casting power, lightweight balance, extreme sensitivity and rugged durability.”The Legend Tournament Walleye rods are outfitted with Fuji® K Series Tangle-Tree Concept Guides with Alconite® rings and polished frames which are designed to “shed” tangles when using super braid, monofilament or fluorocarbon line. They also feature split-grip cork handles made from super grade cork and Fuji’s® new SK2TM split reel seats for the ultimate in light weight and sensitivity. The series retails between $230-$250.

I toured the factory last week with the Custom Rod Builders Guild and they had some of the new line up of blanks for sale. The blanks built with the NSi tech and are supposed to be 30% stronger than the previous blanks. I’ve got a few of the 7’6″MLXF and 7’MLF in the walleye series, and they are a great blank. I also purchased a couple of the new bass series in 6’10″MXF and MLXF, both great blanks as well. The factory is state of the art and you can’t go wrong with their customer service as well. They are also putting a different finish on the rods that is spray painted instead of spread on. It will give the rod a much different look.
