What are you using for set-up(rig) while slip bobbering for Walleyes ?

    Jig/leech,hook/leech or ????

    Mono or hard line ?

    Thanks in advance Jeff

3/4″ slip bobber, #5 split shot, #4 aberdeen hook and a leech or minnow.

Just let the boat drift and pull it along, works good for crappie too.

For my main line I’ll run a Medium sized Thill Pro Series Float, 1/4 Oz egg sinker, dark colored bead then a small swivel.

For my leaders I typically use 3ft 6lb flouro with an octupus style hook in #4’s or #6’s.

Smallest slip bobber I can use, 4# mono and just enough weight to get the bobber to stand up, hook sized depending on whether I use leeches or minnows.

Thill pro series float in the larger sizes for me. I prefer to be able have a big enough float for easy visibility and to not roll under with the waves.

Largest gremlin sinker 18 inches above the chart/orange 1/32 oz Lindy jig and game on!

Are you asking about drifting while corking? Open water or river current?

Speaking from a walleye perspective, I won’t spend any more time corking in current. Tried a lot of different stuff over the years. Nothing I have found is worth the effort. Yes, you will get bit once in a while, but nothing to write home about.

Drifting open water, well, that is a different story!
