I don’t normally fish for walleye’s, but I am taking the girlfriend fishing next weekend, and she has never in 39 years caught a walleye. Can you guys give me some information on where to even begin? I’m talking from line to rod, to tackle, bait, etc. Thank you in advance.

    Where are you going?

    Shore vs Boat?

    River vs Lake?

OH, sorry. We will be renting a boat at the camp ground Fish Lake Acres in Prior Lake. Not sure what the boat setup is, but hoping it has a motor or some sort.

finding the fish is going to be your biggest challenge.

i’d drift with a soft body on one line and a jig and minnow on the other. Take a wind sock to slow your drift if the wind comes up. Two even.

basic spinning tackle will be all you will need.

the real question: Are there WALLEYES in this lake???

Can you get a map of the lake? Even a DNR sounding will help alot to find the structure.

    Report back. Good luck.

The more you fish them the more you will find that alot of good walleye fishing has to do with zip codes, highly populated areas = limited “good” wlleye fishing, Best of luck!

You 2 pick bad weekends if I didn’t have prior obligations, I’d take you out for a bit, couldn’t promise you fish, but I’ve had some ok fishing on that lake.

If your main target is walleye, I would suggest a good 6# or 8# mono line.

suffix elite…clear if your pitching jigs and green if anything else. 6 or 8lb.
