I just built another garmin livescope in a bundle in the last 30 days and called garmin rep twice with questions and both reps told me the same thing when i asked whats coming out new and both told me nothing new in the near future. so time will tell. i have a 106 and a 126 with the lvs34 and i cant see needing anything better at this point

Do you expect Sales Reps for a company who most likely have signed NDA’s on releasing new product info would tell a customer to not buy their products right now and wait?

Garmin does a great job keeping their new product launches secret until they are ready to go…

I shouldn’t have said Garmin rep. I talked to one of the largest Garmin dealers. He has direct contact with the head product people at Garmin and asks about releases before they make big orders. If Garmin lies to them and makes a release after they make a huge order they will be burning key relationships.

Got any recommendations on shuttles and poles Joe? You seem pretty in tune with the livescopes. I think im gonna go with a whole new 34 system and just sell my 32 package. I figure the cost should work out about the same vs just buying the 34 ducer for my existing set up.

Ya I wouldn’t be holding my breath for a new Livescope announcement. And if they do announce something, I wouldn’t think the consumer would have their hands on it until end of 2025

The new HD Innovations stuff looks really good…its from the same guy who designed the Summit stuff and left and started his own company

Buddy just picked up the HDI setup and I was impressed. Shuttle is like most but the telescoping carbon fiber pole is slick. Tempted to upgrade my factory Humminbird pole in favor of the HD. And their pricing seems reasonable.

My son just said that Scheels is coming out with a killer deal on the garmin livescope. I cannot remember the details but it was cheap. Full setup. I told him I am not going to buy another different brand since I already have 2 and he said well get the active target 2 for the lowrance. Well, my head units arent compatible with that. bawling

Thanks for the tip on the HDI stuff Joe. I ordered the shuttle, pole, bag and ducer cover. I am going to buy the 34 system and head unit locally.

Now I just gotta sell my used 32. Just in time for the $1,800 scheels sale…

Talked to a Garmin rep at the Ohio musky show today. Specifically asked about the next LS upgrade. Told me they don’t have any planned anytime soon. They’ve been testing HB’s latest version and it’s not much better than the original. May be salesmanship, may not be.

honestly, these reps all sign NDA’s that allows them access to the newest stuff way early, they are all told to say nothing is on the horizon because Garmin wants as many sales of the existing LVS34 that they can get…There’s ZERO chance a Rep would risk termination over giving somebody (friend or not) any insight information on their next gen technology…

    That’s the UHD2 screen too, great deal…$1,800

That’s a great deal. I paid $2499 for my 93SV with LVS32 in 2020. I can’t believe they still sell them with a lead acid battery and not a lithium. With the 12 amp lead acid battery, I got ~5-6 hours run time on mine. With a 20 amp LiFePo4 I can fish all day.

And there’s ZERO chance a garmin rep would say yeah, we’ve been testing the latest from HB and it’s a little better than ours.

I run HB mega live 1 and have buddies with the garmin. No question the LVS34 is better. It serves me fine though as I’m not too concerned about bait tracking. Honest question though, how much better does Garmin’s really need to be?

For me its a no brainer LOL Why would i go back to staring at my Vexilar ? Do i focus more on my LVS 34 and 32 most definitely ? Why is that ? Simple its much more interesting and educational . When i can watch muskies chasing crappies or big walleyes cruising through is worth the time to watch ! Why would i want to use inferior equipment anyway ? Not me ! If 2.0 comes out i would be thinking of a upgrade for sure !

I would need to see what the improvements are and do I need to basically start over buying a new head unit, battery, shuttle, etc… in terms of technology improvements, what else do we really need from FFS that the LVS34 doesn’t already provide other than perhaps a bit wider beam so its easier to track your bait, I mean we can friggin see their fins moving on screen 60′ out and 30′ deep for crying out loud!

BOOOOOOO. I’m gonna go cuddle with my FL-8 and reassure her that she’s still relevant and loved, even at her age.

Not saying Garmin reps don’t sign NDA’s because I really don’t know but I have never signed a NDA repping fishing equipment and when I used to fish with guys that repped Vexilar I am pretty sure they didn’t because I was well aware of what was coming about a year out. Usually had my hands on newest model a good 6 months prior to release. I usually know of a rod or real remake or refresh more than a year out.

I wonder what the global FFS market value is vs early mechanical flashers with no competition until Marcum came along with a few good years of digital stuff?

So we are or are not expecting a 2.0 ?

I think the Bassmaster’s Classic in late March is the earliest chance for a Garmin announcement…then iCast in July as the latest date its announced…just my opinion…

I think if you start to see the GPSMap86xx series have closeout sales would be another indicator, especially if Garmin’s plan is for a new higher end model lineup rollout as a requirement for Livescope 2.0 (if Garmin plans on including the CPU horsepower in the head units to eliminate the need for a separate GLS10 sonar module, which I think would be a risky, but very smart move on their part)

I would place my bets that Garmin has had Livescope 2.0 ready for awhile now and has been waiting for the competition to catch up enough to justify releasing it and thus killing the high profit margin they’ve been enjoying on Livescope 1.0 all these years…Hopefully they’ve had good field testers during this time helping perfect the software side of things for the eventual consumer release (Kudos to those guys for keeping a tight lip!)

I would personally hold off making a Livescope purchase for the next 6 months, if they do launch 2.0, the existing 1.0 system price (especially the used market) will fall through the floor with so many existing owners upgrading…

Garmin is going to announce at I cast improvements to their Force trolling motor. The kracken is a much better performing TM right now and the Force will get all the kracken features.
