It is funny to me how 2 different sports view HPDI engines like the eTec totally differently.
Anglers – “No way would I buy one of those unreliable outboards that use antiquated technology. The world has moved on, the G2 was doomed from the start. 4 stokes forever.”
Snowmobilers – “You’ll have to pry my eTec/HPDI 2 stroke from my cold, dead hands. No way am I ever riding those fat, bloated, slow, unresponsive 4 strokes. I want power, torque, and an engine that can handle high revs without blowing up. 2 strokes all the way.”
It is funny how true that is , however after 6000-7000 miles a sleds pretty worn out . 7000 miles at 30 mph average is 230 engine hours . Pretty low hour outboard really.
Although a triple piped two stroke yamaha sure sounds mean ripping across the ice lol .
