Everts resort / 4 seasons sports would like to start a wednesday night fishing league. We are still in the planning process but here is what we are thinking so far, feel free to add ideas.

Bass and walleye divisions ( could add catfish if there is enough interest.

$25 one time fee per angler, used for year end rewards, year end party etc. All anglers must pay whether they fish 1 week or every week.

$20 weekly entry fee per boat with 100% payback each week. Bass pot and walleye pot. Up to 3 anglers per boat.

Weekly payout will be 1 place for 7 boats or less, 2 places for 8 to 15 boats and 3 places over 15 boats. Again, bass and walleye will be seperate.

    3 fish limit per boat

    5:00 p.m. takeoff, check-in 9:00 p.m. if daylight allows.

Fish when you can, minimum of 75% of weeks to qualify for year end payout.

League will start 2nd Wednesday in May.

League will run through August, exact dates to follow.

Weigh in will be at Everts resort.

Launch wherever you want boat must stop at Everts for boat check by 5:30 p.m.

Please comment if you are interested. Again, I am sure we will be fine tuning this a bit.

    Thank you, Chris

I am excited about this, a lot of interest. I think I figured out the scoring today so we can have an “angler of the year”. 1st place for each division will be worth 100 points, 2nd 99, 3rd 98 and so on. Everyone in the boat will get those points. So if Paul Huftel, Jacob Allen and Tom Heski Jr.were fishing together and won the walleye side they would each get 100 pts. The next week if they were in 3 different boats they would take their 100 with them and add whatever they each received the next week. If they finished 1,2 and 3 they would have 200, 199, 198.
The only variable I can see is if a boat puts money in both walleye and bass pots ( Corey Waller thinks he is that good, hehe) than finished 1st in walleye and 3rd in bass that boat would get only the higher place finish (100).

    Does this make sense? Issues?

I’d suggest catch and release with a picture of fish on a rigid scale and a control item vs mandatory live well trip to the landing

Yep that would be good. Just from an outsiders view. I’ll probably never fish it. Although if I did fish it and wanted to keep my fish, I could. Right? Who would know? Take a photo and into the live well for what I want to do with it?

Although, because of the distance this is from my home I won’t be participating. However, I’d strongly encourage doing the Photo Weigh-In System. Just like is done on the Pro AIM Circuit. We hold a local weekly walleye club tournament every Thursday late afternoon/evening. We’ve been using the photo weigh-in since we first started a few years ago, with no complaints and/or problems. Just a suggestion! That way the fish go right back and stand the best chance for survival and future generations. Good luck, stay safe and tight lines to all who participate.

Tell me more about the photo weigh in process. I am interested in looking into it. I am not very technologically advanced so if it is something I have the ability to do I would consider it.

Yes, if a person wants to keep their fish they are welcome to do so.

It’s not that I I don’t eat fish. I eat a lot of fish. I also spear Northerns… “Hear we go” I simply don’t have a live well in my boat.

We do it for the Pool 2 GTG tourney. Every week you would hand out a control item that must be present in the pictures to prove it was caught that week. You then take a picture of the fish on the board so you can see the length of it. Round up to the nearest 1/4 or 1/2 and the most inches wins.

My question is would these pics be sent in during the evening in which case someone has got to receive and record them all? Seems like a logistics nightmare for a couple hours fishing unless I personally receive the pics and attempt to process quickly. I don’t want to as I actually want to fish. Selfish, I know, but a guy can’t work every minute.

The only option I can see is that I would do payout the following week. If we come in at 9 or 930 nobody is going to want to wait until 10 or 1030 for us to sort this out.

I know how AIM works, with a staff to handle all of this. How do the other evening leagues do this in the time frame allotted?

It doesn’t take that long. The fisherman don’t send the pics in as they go. You just look at the top 3 to verify that they have what they say.

I sent you a PM with a detailed description and link to how my local league handles it.
